Chemical Plant Real Time Data Collection and Daily Reporting Project
The following was a project dealing with the design and development of a real time chemical manufacturing data collection and management reporting system. The following image was created as part of the investigation and analysis phase of the project. Working with Senior Management in Engineering and Operations, the image underwent several iterations so that it accurately represented how the various pieces of the project tied together.

Starting with the reports, a mock up of each report was created. After several meetings with those that would be viewing the reports we established what data elements would be required. From the approved reports, data elements were defined for the InfoPlus21 real time data collection system and the SQL Server reporting database shown at the center of the image.

In addition to the database development, each of the burgundy colored blocks represented a new development effort that could be handled independently by a single programmer or team of programmers. In the original presentation, a user clicked on any of the block elements and a complete specification for that block was presented. I have disabled the links behind each of the blocks since the work was proprietary. In addition to the block elements, each with their own design specification, a document describing the complete system was prepared and made accessible by the links at the top of the image.

My specific roll after completing the analysis and documentation phase was development and programming of the SQL Server database and the Reporting Subsystem. The entire system was designed and implemented as a browser based application operating in a Windows 2000 environment.
